Description
Alder Root Wood Knife Block
Alder is a tree natively from the northern hemisphere but today also present outside of the north temperate zone.
These pieces are Super Grade root pieces with a high degree of pattern formation.
Alder is often used in electric guitars, noticeably Fender guitars have had Alder bodies since the 1950s.
Most of the foundations Venice is built on, is from Alder which has great resistance to rotting.
A pale hardwood, Alder Wood is an interesting wood to work with, creating a unique textured look.
The pieces are about 30 x 40 x 120 mm in size.

Disappointed
It's a beautiful looking timber, shame mine doesn't look anything like the one pictured. Mine- figuring is quite sparse, has a split about half way down and about 5/8" long. Quite Disappointed actually.
