Brisa Leuku 180, Carbon Steel Blade

Brisa is a Finnish brand of knife making supplies, blades and ready-made knives. EnZo is another brand from Brisa. This is a traditional Scandinavian "Leuku" or big blade used for chopping, camp chores and other heavy work used in the North. Traditionally used as a belt knife in combination with a short, sharp blade this is the heavy worker of the two.

The Brisa Leuku is a big blade, 180 mm long and 35 mm wide. The blade is about 4 mm thick and uses the R44 bolster. The blade is made in Finland from 80 CrV2 carbon steel. Total length with tang is 305 mm. The blade is hardened to 59 HRC, sharp and ready to go.

 The blade is a thicker, stronger version of the Lauri Leuku 175 with 4 mm blade rather than 3.2, slightly longer and with rounded, stronger shoulders into the bolster. The blade is coated with a thin layer of forge scale, showing tempering colours for a rustic, traditional look. This can be sanded off if preferring a shiny surface.
