Corby Bolt, Brass (1/4", 6.5 mm) Set of 20 bolts

Medium size corby bolt in brass, for securing handle scales to full-tang knife blades.

These are often used in addition to epoxy glue, for both looks and additional attachment strength of the handle scales.

The bolt has thicker end pieces (6.5 mm / 1/4") with screwdriver slots in them.

The centre section is 4.69 mm thick and is the part that goes through the blade.

The bolt is threaded, consisting of two pieces that when tighetend is ground down to sit flush with the handle scales.

This is a set of 4 Corby bolts.

I bought these to make a handle for a knife, and they did a real good job. I'm very happy with them.
    Looks very professional

    Brass Corby Bolts

Posted by KJ on 16th May 2019

I have used these on 2 knives (2 brass corby bolts and a brass tube in each knife). On the second knife, one of the bolts snapped (at the junction where it steps down from the head to the start of the thread). Luckily it occurred when I was testing assembly and not when epoxy was used. I used no more force than I normally do.
The bolts clean up nicely when grinding the handle. It is too early to say how good the product is so I have only given it 3 stars. If they continue to have a one in four fail rate, I won't buy them again.
