Description

EnZo Trapper Knife Kit in Flat Grind with Leather Sheath

This is one of the most complete knife kits we sell.

This kit consists of

  • High quality EnZo Trapper 95 blade, full flat grind
  • Handle Scales, already shaped in 3D (see options)
  • Red spacer material for between the blade and handle scales
  • Brass corby bolts

Options: Select handle scales in either arctic Curly Birch, Desert Ironwood, or Green or Black Canvas Micarta or Ivory Linen Micarta.

The "Trapper" blade from EnZo is a very sharp, Finish blade with great edge geometry for cutting.

The blade is about 3.6 mm thick, about 25 mm wide and has about 95 mm of blade. Total length 210 mm.

The blade is in N690Co, combining with the EnZo build quality and attention to fit and finish, into a high-quality knife.

The handle scales are in curly birch, a pale hardwood from Scandinavia (See options for other wood types).

This wood is the first choice for scandi knives, due to high level of figure in the wood, while still providing a solid and durable grain structure that can easily be worked.

More details on the blade steel: N690 or N690Co is a Cobalt-enriched stainless steel from Austrian steel company Bohler. N690 shares some similarities with it's other Cobalt-steel bretheren such as ATS-55 and VG-10, The added Cobalt improves the wear resistance and edge retention of the steel in addition to ensuring a uniform grain structure.

This high-quality kit is 80% completed.

Work required is to glue on the scales to the blade using Epoxy glue. In some kits the red spacer material is already glued to the scales, and in some kits this come as a loose item. If it comes loose in your kit, drill holes for the bolts and glue the spacer material to the handle scales. When the glue is dry, the spacer material can be cut to fit the handle scales using a sharp knife or file.

Securely screw down the Corby bolts, then file or grind off the bolt heads sticking above the handle scales.

Then sand the scales and finish them with oil, dye, wax or similar to seal them for improved durability.

The leather sheath is ready to use, in thick, exclusive oxe hide from Spain.

This is a very good knife: great edge; very well made and a nice size to work with. In kit form it works really well. Minimal assembly if that is what you want or you can customise it further. Watch this knife on YouTube you will b impressed.
