SAN MAI Damascus Nakiri, Stainless Steel
Stainless Damascus Santoku Blade with 165 mm blade length, 2 mm thick and about 45 mm high. Hand hammered top section, "tsuchime" for better food release. Total length including tang is 250 mm. The blade is made in Japan, and is ready to be made into a knife, already sharp and polished.
Made from Swedish 19C27 Stainless Steel in a "san mai" construction meaning a single cutting steel is the centre of forge-welded (damascus) stainless steels. The forge welded steels are after completion etched to reveal the unique pattern.
This is a hard blade, heat treated to 60 HRC and needs to be treated with care, as most Japanese style blades to avoid chipping.
